Dakshinkali Temple: ( Sacrifice animals )
This is one of the most important and popular Hindu pilgrimage Site, located 22 km away from Southwest of Kathmandu valley. It`s take about an hour drive because the road is uphill all the way and dedicated to Goddess Kali who is the Shiva`s consort in her most blood thirsty incarnation. Dakshin is known as South and Kali is another fearsome aspect of Shakti ( Durga ) so that it basically mean the goddess Kali of the South. Two times a week, a lot of devotees gather in a large mass especially on Tuesday and Saturday where they usually sacrifices cocks, male goats, male water buffalos. The Dashain festival in October month is major festival here.
Nagarkot:
Nagarkot is perhaps the best place to view Sunrise and the Himalaya from the comfort of your hotel balcony. Just 35 km from Kathmandu, the village is packed with hotels, stacked up on a ridge facing one of the broadest possible views of the Himalaya. Between October and March a trip to Nagarkot will nearly always be rewarded with a view, but be warned the mountains are notorious for disappearing behind coldly skies on any given day or hour. It can get very cold at Nagarkot, so bring warm clothing.
Day 04: Sunrise views and panoramic snow peaks of Himalaya from Nagarkot.
After breakfast, we will do sightseeing in the following cultural and historical monumental areas and go to Dhulikhel for overnight: Early in the morning, we should wake up to see Sunrise views and shedding golden light on the Himalaya. After breakfast, we will start sightseeing in two places which are given below and go to Dhulikhel for overnight.
Day 05: Sunrise views and panoramic snow peaks of Himalaya from Dhulikhel. After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for your onward destination.
Dhulikhel:
Dhulikhel is situated about 35 km away from eastern part of Kathmandu and is located about 1550 meter from the sea level. It is an old Newari town and has approximately 16 thousand population there. This town is accessed via the Arniko Highway that connects Kathmandu with the Tibetan border town of Kodari and takes about one hour drive from Kathmandu. It has for many centuries been an important trading centre on the ancient commercial route between Nepal and Tibet. Since time immemorial, Nepali people travel to Tibet to bring home salt and gold. Likewise, Tibetans people every year with their flocks of sheep enter into Nepal during Dashain Festival. They used to purchase chilies and other daily necessities in Nepal and return to their homeland. Drinking water in Dhulikhel is some of the best water in Nepal. It was made with the help of German NGO.
The spectacular snow fed mountains seen from Dhulikhel must be one of the finest panoramic views in the world. When a blue haze covers the lower portion of the mountains, they seem to be floting in the air. With the snowy mountains on the backdrop, Dhulikhel is a stage of immense beauty and a paradise for nature lovers. Green inviting hills of which still virgin and some turned into beautifully carved agricultural terraces cater to the beholder pleasure. Geographically, the plains rise up gradually up to the green mountains and further into the snow-capped Himalayas.
The panorama offers a majestic undisturbed view of the Himalayan ranges stretching from Mount Annapurna in the far west to Mount Karolung in the far East. More than 20 Himlayan peaks including Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Mt. Ganesh Himal (7429m), Mt. Langtang (7234m), Mt. Gaurishanker (7134m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), so on can be seen in their full glory from the different vantage points in Dhulikhel.
